Region Zealand uses a new en-suite door with no ligature points in their bathroom to create a safer everyday life for their patients.

In Region Zealand, the desire was to find a safe solution that allowed their patients to screen off to bathrooms without compromising safety. Normal doors contain several ligature points, which, especially in challenged environments, can create dangerous and inappropriate situations for staff and patients.

Region Zealand chose to use our en-suite door and has fitted these in several of their patient rooms. The en-suite door, with its special construction, helps prevent the possibility of suicide and self-harm, compared to traditional bathroom doors.

With simple fittings, the en-suite door can be mounted in existing door frames and is prepared in a soft and pliable material. The doore is released at 8 kg. load and is easily refitted by the staff.

Below are shown pictures of a room where the traditional bathroom door is replaced with the en-suite door, thereby removing all visible ligature points. The other pictures show some of the ligature points found in traditional door solutions.

At Safehinge Primera, which developed the door, you can see a previously held webinar where the loosen is presented.
