In 32 rooms at The Special Squares Frederikssund, new secured curtains are installed at the patient’s beds.

On the basis that good interior design and normalisation ensure a faster cure and improvement of the patient’s condition, a solution that is optimal for patients has now been achieved as they have the opportunity to black out and have the best possible peace. At the same time, the solution is safe for both employees and patients, as there are no parts that can be destroyed or used to self-harm or violence against others.

The curtain rod is also impossible to get down as it is fitted with safety screws. The patented curtain rod is designed so that the curtain easily clicks out at load (pull) and thus prevents suicide attempts. Staff can easily put the curtain back on – at no cost to external craftsmen/fitters.

Info about the curtain solution:

The curtain rod consists of rod, hooks and two end stops. The solution has been tested by SP, Technical Research Institute of Sweden. The hooks loosen from the rod by affecting weight. One hook loosens at a maximum of 1.5 kg and a curtain with 20 hooks at a maximum of 16.7 kg of pull. See more here.
