INTERIOR DESIGN THAT MAKES SENSE

Sometimes we act in affect. Affect is the emotional state one experiences in a given moment. This can be either positive or negative. If you act in a negative affect, it is often a reaction to being overstimulated, and often you regret your actions when your nervous system has calmed down again.

This challenge was faced by skodsborg special institution. Therefore, in collaboration with staff and managers, we have helped to design their rooms where young people can go when they are overstimulated. Some of the demands the staff wanted were to accommodate to alleviate the affect and overstimulation the young people faced, but that the room could still create a calm atmosphere.

 

This required a room without too much furniture. The choice was there for a Flex rocking lounger, Flex Beanbag and a portobello table in shades of blue. Especially the color choice blue, can contribute to a calmer atmosphere, as we often find it subdued, calm and neutral. Thank you for helping to decorate for you, we really appreciate that.
