Arkisafe has delivered a wide range of solutions for the secured residential institution Koglen, all of which radiate normality while preventing violence and self-harm.
From our range of safe and suicidal products we have to bathrooms at the secured residential institution The crowbar delivered: waste bin, toilet, sink, mirror, toothbrushes, toilet roll holder, toilet brush, suicidal hooks and suicidal protective fittings for securing door hinges.
The sink is extremely robust and produced in high quality polyester gelcoat. The design is specially adapted to challenged environments and is vandal-safe and without ligature points (anti-ligatures). The sink is aesthetically pleasing and fits nicely with the wall-mounted safe toilet. The series is an ideal solution for use in, among other things, psychiatry, prisons and places of residence.
“Every year at the secured residential institution Koglen we receive between 40 and 60 crime-threatening and convicted children and young people from all over the country. In several cases, there has been a need to ensure the continued development and well-being of young people by, among other things, establishing a special youth room that better meets the individual needs of the young person.
We regularly receive young people who react strongly to a placement. Either by being outwardly responsive, where the experience is often that young people try to engage in vandalism to a not insignificant extent, or by exhibiting self-harming and/or suicidal behaviour.
The aim of the boiler has been to establish a room that prevents young people from being injured on the principle that the room and the associated bathroom are built and furnished with a choice of materials that radiates normality.”
In the bathroom, Koglen in cooperation with Arkisafe has chosen the following solutions:
The boiler has also used our universal door bracket for ligature protection of door hinges.
